If the young lady were my daughter, I would exemplify economy and simplicity with a Cotes du Rhone, but if that is not the case, I would thank God with the Grands Echezeaux '62.

Book of Wines

We have put together a broad range of wines from around the world, with particular emphasis on California Chardonnays & hearty reds. The list is offered in a progressive format. That is, the wines will proceed from fruitier & sweeter to heartier & dryer as you go through the book. Nearly every grape & many wine regions are represented, & our list is a living list. It will change monthly, weekly or daily if needed.

As new, impressive wines or great values become available, we will offer them to you. If you have suggestions or favorites, let us know and we’ll try to add them. Please keep in mind that some wines will be out of stock due to short supplies. In every case we’ll be happy to offer an alternative.

The “Wine Spectator”, “Wine Enthusiast” & “Restaurant Wine” Magazine ratings have been included where available. In most cases, we offer most of the highest rated wines available in upstate New York.

Chardonnay

Easily, the most popular white grape today.  Its wines include many from California and France.  Champagne is primarily Chardonnay.  Chardonnay offers fruity aromas and flavors, and because of its compatibility with oak it is most often fermented in oak.  It has medium to high acidity and is rich and full bodied.
